At the same time, however, tick season<\/strong> also begins. Ticks are widespread throughout Central Europe and can transmit various pathogens, including Borrelia bacteria, the causative agents of Lyme disease. <\/p>

Lyme disease is a bacterial infectious disease. It is mainly transmitted by ticks, particularly by the castor bean tick. Borrelia bacteria belong to the group of spiral-shaped bacteria known as spirochetes. Various species occur in Europe, including Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii. <\/p>

Depending on the pathogen and the body\u2019s individual response, different symptoms may occur, ranging from skin symptoms to neurological or rheumatic problems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After a tick bite, it is important to remain calm and remove the tick as soon as possible. It should be grasped close to the skin with fine-tipped tweezers or a suitable tick removal tool and slowly pulled straight out<\/strong>. Oil, glue or alcohol should not be used. Afterwards, it is important to observe the bite site carefully over the following days and weeks. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The question of so-called chronic Lyme disease is the subject of ongoing debate in medicine. However, it is undisputed that some people may continue to experience symptoms for a longer period even after the infection has resolved. <\/p>

Frequently described symptoms include musculoskeletal complaints such as joint and muscle pain, stiffness<\/strong> or changing pain locations<\/strong>.
