Activate the body’s self-healing powers

Naturopathic Medicines

In the Alpstein Clinic, we use various medicines from the following areas of naturopathy:

Homeopathy primarily tries to activate and support the self-healing powers of the body. The choice of the remedy is based on the so-called similarity principle: a substance that causes a disease symptom in healthy people can cure a patient with the same symptom. Homeopathic remedies are taken in the form of beads, also known as globules, or in the form of drops. The basis of a homeopathic remedy is a mother tincture, which is made from a vegetable, mineral, animal or metallic raw material. A well-chosen homeopathic remedy has the advantage that it can act very quickly on acute complaints. This is why homeopathy is also helpful in the treatment of children.

In phytotherapy, also called herbal medicine, the most effective ingredients of medicinal plants such as leaves, flowers, roots or bark are used for the production of tablets, ointments, juices, teas, wraps, essential oils, etc. More than 300 plants are used as medicines in Western medicine.

Orthomolecular Medicine

Orthomolecular medicine uses so-called vital substances or micronutrients. These vital substances include vitamins, trace elements, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids and secondary phytochemicals. Under normal circumstances, in combination with a good and well-balanced diet, we consume sufficient nutrients. Among other things, diseases, increased stress levels, inadequate nutrition, and the intake of certain drugs and environmental toxins create a significantly increased demand for nutrients. This must be compensated for in order to prevent or cure chronic deficiency symptoms or diseases.

In isopathy, the principle of equality is applied. This means that a disease is treated with the same pathogen that triggered it. Isopathic drugs contain various microorganisms in potentiated form. These bring the disease-causing microorganisms in the human body back into a healthy balance. Isopathic agents are therefore also considered bioregulators.

Homotoxic Medicine

Homotoxic medicine is based on the principles of homeopathy. However, we use combination products in the treatment, rather than the individual remedies used in homeopathy. The drug is selected on the basis of the indication and not, as in classical homeopathy, on the basis of the drug picture.

Secondary Plant Substances

Secondary plant substances are chemically diverse substances that are formed exclusively by plants. They occur in fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, potatoes, etc. and have a high health value in the human body. Secondary plant substances protect the body from infections, strengthen the immune system, have anti-inflammatory effects, lower the risk of cancer, and reduce free radicals. Well-known turmeric (curcumin) is one of the most important secondary plant substances that we use. It is taken in the form of tablets, capsules or infusions.

Anthroposophic Remedies

Anthroposophic remedies are prepared from mineral, animal and vegetable substances in various manufacturing processes. They are used internally as globules, suppositories or injections and externally as ointments, oils and essences. The selection of an anthroposophic remedy takes into account the patient’s current life situation and characteristic features. This means that the individual is considered and treated in all dimensions. Mistletoe is one of the best-known anthroposophic remedies we use.
