The small village of Gais in Appenzellerland is nestled in the beautiful hilly landscape between Säntis and Lake Constance with views of the massive Alpstein mountains. The landscape is characterized by originality, tranquillity and tradition.
At an altitude of almost 1,000 meters, you will find relaxation and new strength.

Traditional health resort

The whey cure was launched here in Gais in 1748 and was used worldwide in the following decades. Healing seekers from all over the world with chronic infections came to Gais, drank fresh whey from the mountain farmers every day and breathed in the fresh mountain air. Although the whey cure has since lost its importance, Gais welcomes many thousands of guests every year to relax, regenerate and recharge their batteries. The Alpstein Clinic, which was founded in 2018, is once again building on the spa activities and offers a broad, scientifically based range of complementary medical treatments at the highest level.

The main building of the Alpstein Clinic is located directly on the historic village square in Gais, which has been recognized by the Swiss Heritage Society for its beautiful townscape.

The Alpstein Clinic building houses the medical and dental practices as well as the various therapy rooms and lounges on four floors. We offer you an exceptional ambience and combine traditional Swiss hospitality with state-of-the-art facilities.

In this step, we promote recovery and stimulate the immune system: We stimulate the humoral and cellular defenses with a wide range of non-specific and specific immune stimulants, immune-boosting measures such as hyperthermia, infusions, ozone therapy and colon hydrotherapy. The stimulation and vitalization of all organs and physical structures are components of our holistic concept.
