Startseite Natural regeneration with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)
Natural regeneration with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)
Dear Patients,
In regenerative medicine, the body’s own substances are increasingly being used to support healing processes in a targeted manner and without side effects. One particularly effective method is therapy with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). This procedure uses the natural growth factors in your own blood to promote tissue formation and wound healing.
What is Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)?
What is Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)?
PRF is an autologous (body-derived) product obtained from a small sample of your own blood. It contains platelets (thrombocytes) that store important growth factors and release them continuously over a period of about seven days. These factors support cell activation, tissue and bone regeneration and the formation of new blood vessels.
PRF therapy enables faster and less inflammatory wound healing. Because it is a natural product, the risks of allergies or rejection reactions are eliminated.
Key effects of PRF:
Promotion of the formation of blood vessel, connective tissue, cartilage and bone formation
Accelerated regeneration of soft and hard tissue
Anti-inflammatory effects and pain reduction
Stimulation of the body’s own growth factors such as TGFβ1, VEGF and PDGF
Fields of application in dentistry and beyond:
- Accelerated wound healing after tooth extractions and surgical procedures (e.g., sinus lift, jaw necrosis)
- Support for periodontitis therapies
- Adjunct treatment for patients undergoing bisphosphonate therapy to reduce the risk of MRONJ/ARONJ
- Aesthetic-regenerative treatments in the facial area (e.g., scar and wrinkle therapy)
Natural, safe and effective
With PRF therapy, the Alpstein Clinic harnesses the regenerative powers of your own body — gently, biocompatible and highly effective. Healing processes can be accelerated, inflammation reduced, and stable long-term tissue structures supported.
