PRP Treatments – Harnessing Your Body’s Natural Regenerative Potential for Skin and Hair
Dear Patients,
Modern aesthetic medicine increasingly focuses on treatments that support the body’s own regenerative processes. One such method is PRP treatment. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. For this treatment, a small amount of the patient’s own blood is drawn, specially processed and then precisely injected into the desired treatment areas.
At Alpstein Clinic, we view PRP as a natural and individually tailored way to support skin quality, regeneration and hair roots. Since the patient’s own material is used, the treatment requires no artificial additives.
What is PRP?
What is PRP?
PRP is obtained from the patient’s own blood. After the blood sample is taken, the blood is processed in a special centrifuge. This separates the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. The plasma contains growth factors that are involved in natural repair and regeneration processes.
The extracted PRP is then precisely injected into the desired areas. Depending on the treatment goal, it can be used on the face, around the eyes, on the neck, décolleté or scalp.
PRP for the Face – Supporting Skin Quality
As we age, the skin changes. Firmness, moisture and elasticity may decrease, fine lines become more visible, and the skin may appear less fresh. PRP can be used to support the skin’s natural regenerative processes.
Possible treatment goals include:
- improvement of skin structure and skin quality
- support of collagen and elastin production
- reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
- a fresher and more even complexion
- natural-looking results without adding volume
PRP is particularly suitable for the face, eye area, neck and sensitive skin areas.
PRP for the Neck and Décolleté
The neck and décolleté are among the areas where changes in the skin often become visible early on. Sun exposure, environmental factors and the natural ageing process can lead to fine creases, loss of elasticity and changes in skin quality.
PRP can be used in these regions to support skin regeneration and improve skin structure. The treatment is particularly interesting for fine lines on the décolleté, sagging skin on the neck, sun-damaged skin or the prevention of premature skin ageing.
PRP for Hair Loss – Supporting the Hair Roots
PRP is also used in the field of hair medicine. The growth factors contained in the plasma may support the scalp and hair follicles. The aim is to stimulate weakened hair roots and strengthen existing hair.
PRP may be considered, among other cases, for:
- early-stage hereditary hair loss
- diffuse hair loss
- weakened hair roots
- decreasing hair density
- supportive treatment after a hair transplant
Which results are realistic always depends on the individual starting point. This is why a personal consultation before treatment is particularly important.
How Does a PRP Treatment Work?
The treatment is carried out in several steps:
The treatment usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes. Since the patient’s own substances are used, PRP is generally considered to be well tolerated. Nevertheless, the treatment should always be carried out professionally, under sterile conditions and following an individual medical assessment.
For Optimal Results
Depending on the starting point, several treatments at intervals of a few weeks are usually recommended. Often, three to four sessions are initially planned. Follow-up treatments may then be useful in order to maintain the achieved result over the long term.
The exact treatment plan depends on the individual findings, the area being treated and the desired goal.
Scientific Context
PRP has been scientifically studied in aesthetic dermatology and hair medicine for several years. Particularly in the areas of skin regeneration and hair loss, there are interesting indications of possible positive effects. At the same time, the available data varies depending on the specific question, and results may differ from person to person.
At Alpstein Clinic, we therefore do not regard PRP as a standard solution for everyone, but as a treatment option that should be assessed individually within a medically supervised concept.
Our approach at the Alpstein Clinic
At Alpstein Clinic, we use PRP in a targeted and individually tailored manner. The central question is which type of regenerative support is appropriate in each individual case – whether for a fresher complexion, improved skin quality or support of the hair roots.
We place great importance on careful consultation, realistic expectations and a treatment approach that suits the individual starting point.
